▶ DESCRIPTION
Sanctuary Gaming is located on Level 1, just close enough to the arcades and VR rooms to draw interest from that group of people, but also just far enough away that the noise of PrismaPlace doesn't intrude on peace and quiet
It's a somewhat squat (3-4 floors) office/retail building, the lowest floor and half of the second floor dedicated to the retail/gaming areas and the rest of the building serving as workspace for custom orders/development/so on and so forth. Even during the day, the windows tend to be lit up in different colours, and sometimes the interiors (done in a sleek, light-coloured style to take advantage of the weird lighting) also take on the same colour of lighting.
The general goal is for a relaxed, casual gaming environment, which means Ren tends not to sit too hard on rules except where it concerns things that ruin people's fun. So obvious general politeness rules apply that you'd expect in any business, as well as more gaming specific ones regarding cheating, weighting packs for collectible games, and so on. In particular, there's a very zero-tolerance policy for cheating and Ren will come and kick people out for it personally if he has to.
▶ SERVICES
Sanctuary partially serves as a tabletop gaming shop, with third-party games and accessories (as well as their own line of accessories) available and space provided for those who want a nice place to play with just enough frills to make it stand out. However, Sanctuary also deals in custom-made gaming peripherals for video games, both in terms of customising something provided to them or reaching out for collaborations to make something from scratch. You want neon cat-eared headphones? They can do that. You want your gaming keyboard lighting to be so obnoxiously bright that using it in an esports tournament now constitutes cheating? Probably don't do that, but hey, they can if you want.
If your character would custom order something from Sanctuary, please fill out the following form so I can keep track (also put "Request" in the subject line)! Obviously simpler requests will have a shorter turnaround time - anything that would have to be designed from the ground up could take several weeks at least.
In the background of all this, Sanctuary's staff work on replicating the Vanguard card game from Ren's world and finding ways to adapt and market it to the tastes of this one. So far, this involves converting to a more digital format and taking advantage of the planet's existing VR technology, but as this is still in very early stages, current marketing would only likely be the occasional teases of card art or VR shenanigans on Prismatican social media.
▶ STAFF
Sanctuary is primarily staffed by young Prismals either still in further education or just out of it, getting some early industry experience. As Ren personally picks staff members due to lack of other people to foist that particular job off onto, they are all unfailingly passionate about their work and the industry in general, though that may not be the most obvious with all of them until you get them talking.
Moonblessed are also welcome to apply for jobs or add themselves to an expressions of interest list for playtesting once Sanctuary gets far enough with adapting Vanguard to need it! While joining the expressions of interest list can be handwaved, applying for a proper job (which can be anything that might be involved in the making of a video game, such as artists, SFX people, programmers, etc., or just staff for the game shop) will require an interview with Ren, which I'd prefer to thread out or at least discuss in some detail. Either way, please fill out the following form with "Job" in the subject line:
